Dr. Harte Weiner

Dr. Harte Weiner has resided in Cambridge continuously since 1985; before that she attended college here at Harvard University. Advanced degrees include a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Stanford University (1990), and an M.F.A. in Poetry from Columbia University (1981). Dr. Weiner has taught on the faculties of Brown, Tufts, and Harvard Universities. Other teaching credits include: The Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Phillip’s Andover Academy, Upward Bound, and the Harvard Summer School for Foreign Students. Dr. Weiner directed Honors Theses for the Harvard University Department of English for six years, from her office at Winthrop House, in the capacity of non-resident tutor. She began professional editing in 1993.

Holding key posts in the Creative Writing field, Dr. Weiner served as Contributing Editor to The Paris Review under Jonathan Galassi, and Assistant Director to The Academy of American Poets, with then-Director Henri Cole. This academic year, her editing work has focused on Dissertations, Creative Theses in several genres—and essays of application to Institutions of Higher Learning.
